Overview of Works
This residential extension project in Weybridge was delivered in collaboration with Six Miles Developments, a well-established property development company. Our team was responsible for delivering a full internal and external finishing package, including plastering, carpentry, rendering (sand and cement), dry lining, screeding, and insulation.
All work was completed to a high standard and within the agreed timeframe, ready for follow-on trades.
Internal Carpentry & Ceiling Preparation
We carried out precise carpentry adjustments to accommodate structural steelwork and prepare for insulation and plasterboarding. The work included:
- Lowering the existing ceiling using timber and packers to align flat below steel beams.
- Boxing in structural steels for a clean, concealed finish.
- Boxing in pipework around the new toilet area.
- Making all necessary pickups and adjustments to ensure ceilings and walls were level and ready for boarding and insulation.
This stage was crucial to ensure a seamless finish once plastered and decorated.
External Sand & Cement Rendering
A traditional sand and cement render system was applied to the exterior of the extension to deliver a durable and attractive finish. The process included:
- Fixing a render stop bead to the perimeter of the block-work.
- Applying a 4:1 sand and cement scratch coat for a solid, keying base.
- Finishing with a 5:1:1 top coat of sand, cement, and lime. The surface was ruled flat and floated to a smooth, clean finish.
This method provided a breathable and robust exterior solution, ideal for the property’s style and environment.
Fence Construction & Installation
We also completed minor landscaping work involving the removal and replacement of fencing:
- Removal of existing fencing panels.
- Fixing of new fence post to the main house.
- Fabrication of a custom fence panel to fit between existing posts.
- Installation of all fence panels to create a secure and visually neat boundary.
